Who we are

KioskClock (the "Service") is operated by Watts Software Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal data the Service collects, why, and the choices you have. Questions: support@kioskclock.com.

What we collect

We collect only what the Service needs:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in with a one-time code and to contact you about your account.
  • Your business details: business name, time zone and pay-period settings.
  • Employee and time records you add: each employee's name, a random badge code, and their clock-in and clock-out times, including any edits you make and when.
  • Kiosk devices you pair: a label you choose and when the device was last used.
  • Subscription records (plan, status, renewal date and the email used at checkout). Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach us.
  • What you send through the contact form: your name, email address, topic and message.
  • Aggregate page-view statistics (pages visited, referrer, country, device type). No cookies are used for this.
  • Technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept briefly for security and to fix problems.

How we use it

We use your data to:

  • Provide, secure and improve the Service.
  • Respond to your messages and support requests.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records.

What we don't do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Employee data

When a business uses KioskClock, the business decides which employees to add and is responsible for that data, including telling its employees how their time is recorded. We process employee names and time records only on the business's behalf and only to provide the Service to it.

If you are an employee, please contact your employer first about your records. You can also write to support@kioskclock.com and we will help your employer respond.

Kiosks, badges and cameras

The kiosk uses the device camera only to read QR codes. Camera images are processed on the device and are never uploaded or stored.

A badge's QR code holds a random code, not a name or any other personal detail. We do not collect fingerprints, face scans, location or any other biometric data.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what the Service needs to work, and no advertising or tracking cookies:

  • Sign-in cookies that keep you signed in.
  • A kiosk cookie on each paired device, so it stays connected for up to 400 days or until you remove the kiosk.
  • Browser storage for the try-it demo: names you type stay in your browser until you sign in to keep them or clear them.

The demo

You can try the Service without an account. If you scan badges with your phone during the demo, the names you entered are sent to our servers for a temporary demo session. Demo sessions expire after 24 hours and are then deleted.

One sign-in across our apps

Watts Software Inc. runs several apps that share one sign-in system. If you use more than one of them with the same email address, they recognise the same login, but each app keeps its own data and cannot see another app's data.

Service providers

We use these providers to run the Service. They process data only on our instructions:

  • Vercel Inc.: hosting and serving the website.
  • Supabase Inc.: database and sign-in.
  • Resend Inc.: sending sign-in codes and replies to messages.
  • Polar Software Inc.: payments, as merchant of record.
  • Vercel Web Analytics: aggregate, cookie-free page-view statistics.

How long we keep it

Employee and time records stay until you delete them or your account. You can delete your account at any time from your settings page. This removes your KioskClock data, including your employees and their time records, immediately. Your login is removed too unless you still use another Watts Software Inc. app.

Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, without a link to your deleted account.

Contact messages are kept for up to two years, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@kioskclock.com. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy we will update this page and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
